my daughters name is gabriella, i liked gabrielle initially but went with gabriella because we are in a spanish speaking country, she is three months now but i still havent got used to it, i feel its a bit fussy, on the otherhand i have absolutely no idea of any alternatives.

I love the name Gabriella. Wanted to use it for DD but DP wouldn't allow it Sad

needsomesunshineandwine · 06/08/2017 12:55

Lovely name, how about these for short?

Gabby
Ella
Bella
Brie

Change it back to Gabrielle, no need for the final -a just because of where you are.

If you want a more substantial change how about Gaia or Gala?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/08/2017 19:37

Gabriella is nicer.😄

SuperBeagle · 06/08/2017 21:55

Change it to Gabrielle if you like it more. Smile

missyB1 · 06/08/2017 21:57

Change it to Gabrielle (I'm with you on that it's rolls off the tongue much easier).

chocolatespiders · 06/08/2017 21:58

I prefer what it is now!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 08/08/2017 13:50

I prefer Gabrielle too, but there's nothing wrong with Gabriella.

Ropsleybunny · 08/08/2017 13:51

It's a really lovely name OP.

Happydays21 · 08/08/2017 13:58

I prefer Gabriella and think its a lovely name!

BattyBagshot · 08/08/2017 14:08

Have to say I much prefer Gabrielle. But can understand why you want for Gabriella in Spain. Will you stay there? If you want to change it, then do, ppl would find it easy to get used to!

Dizzywhore · 08/08/2017 14:08

Both beautiful names. Go with your gut! Change it now before she gets to old though. X

Ceebs85 · 08/08/2017 14:20

If you're changing it do it now.

I much prefer Gabrielle to Gabriella. Seems less fussy and more elegant to my ear.

thisismadness77 · 08/08/2017 14:26

My friend has a 7 year old Gabriella. It's pretty, perhaps you will get more comfortable with it over time. It's a lovely name, especially when she's older so I'd suggest using a shortening if anything now. Ella?

bella7687 · 08/08/2017 16:12

I have started calling her ella which i like, so i think i will keep her name as is. Thanks for the suggestions
