I LOVE the name Cara

Think the middle name needs to start and end with a consonant or silent vowel-so Cara Jean/Jane as above sounds good.

Cara Rose
Cara Bethany
Cara Tamsin

I have a Cara Ann :)

She was supposed to be Cara Louise but I changed my mind at the last minute (long story), wish I hadn't tbh but thankfully we never use it anyway

In my family we use family names for middle names so maybe look in your family inspiration?

MikeUniformMike · 04/08/2017 21:32

Avoid a middle name starting with a vowel. And Zara, Sara and Tara.
An a followed by a vowel gets an r inserted, so a name like Cara Ann will be said as Cara Ran. Laura Norder style.

Although I see someone else has suggested it, Cara Louise

Just has a nice ring to it.

Mazza22 · 04/08/2017 21:46

Totally agree a lot of family connections on the suggestions above. Hadn't thought about not following with a vowel.. Can see the point

I'm Irish, and a lovely second name for Cara which can be run together with it, is Cara Iowa, or Cariosa, (pronounced Careesa). Cara means friend in Gaelic, and Iosa means Jesus. But actually not known as an overly religious name!

maimeo · 04/08/2017 22:27

Not Iowa, Iosa! Damn autocorrect!

Deemail · 05/08/2017 20:33

My cara (caragh actually) is caragh Louise, she was meant to be Maeve but I couldn't remember it so dh picked Louise.

Mazza22 · 05/08/2017 20:51

Oh that's so interesting. I was actually wondering about spelling Caragh. Caragh Louise has a lovely flow x
