This is my first post a's I've always been too nervous to post due to anxiety but I have been through various forums and have never seen my name mentioned and just wondered what people thought of it! Personally I hate it and have never been able to buy anything personalised! So here it goes my name is...... Karla! Please be as honest as you like lol because I hate it

It's very unusual. It looks like quite a few names but isn't! I think it's pretty.

Although Carla isn't uncommon.

I prefer the spelling with a C (Carla) but I think it's ok
If you really hate it you could always change it!
Which name would you choose for yourself?

I've often thought about changing it but my middle names aren't much better to be fair! They're maxine and Elizabeth! I would have preferred to have been carla as I wouldn't spend my life correcting people! Wouldn't it be strange now to change it at 27

I have a friend called Karla, of German heritage.
Elizabeth is a classic and timeless name.
Maxine, in my opinion, is due a revival ! 😄

You could always just change the spelling if you like Carla.

I love Karla. I think it's a beautiful name, although Carla is more common.

Karla is lovely. I empathise with correcting spelling! My name is Jenna and I get everything but the right way (Gemma, Jemma, Gena, Jena). Change it to a C if it bothers you, but Karla/Carla is lovely!

I suppose it's because the rest of my family have names that you cannot spell wrong! One is a 4 letter palindrome, one is very common as a middle name and the other only has one spelling! Even when I phone up to book a gp appointment they can't find me on the system and am I sure I'm spelling my name properly lol

I think of the K spelling as German but it's not a weird or horrible name. My brother has a name that was extremely rare when we were kids so he had that problem with personalised things and I get what it means to you. (His name is popular now so he could have all the personalised childish stuff he wanted, but he's in his 40s...)

I think it's nice OP. Quite unique. Elizabeth is a great name too and what I would pick if I were you should you change it. Although I'm a huge Maxine Peake fan so might be swayed to go with that

I love Karla/Carla - it's my cousin's name and also the female variation of a male family name Carlton/Carl and it was on my list of girls' names when I was pregnant.

It's fabulous, please don't change it! I always imagine totally cool, spunky, adventurous Italian women called Carla, riding on their vespas!

I like Karla. I don't see the problem with the spelling, if any-one asks, just say Karla with a K, how can they go wrong?

I used to pretend my name was Carla when I was a kid! I love it. The K spelling is cool too.

I know a Carla with a C but I think the Karla with a K is pretty and unique 😀

I love the name Karla! I can't believe you don't like it? It's on my shortlist. Hubby isn't 100% on it yet but i think i could convince him

Ah one of my best friends is called Karla so I have a soft spot for it.

Having a very, very common name can be overrated.

Karla, Maxine and Elizabeth are all perfectly nice names.

I personally don't like the K so much, but my first language doesn't have a K, so it's probably that. Nice enough name though.
