Welsh or Dutch boys names?

I don't even know if I'm having a boy yet, but we're set for girls names but have no clue for boys names!

We are Welsh and Dutch. I prefer names that could work in both the UK & the Netherlands (can be hard when it comes to some Dutch names!) and preferably non biblical names.

Who has any ideas for Welsh boys names that aren't too out there (esp abroad) or Dutch boys names that aren't too crazy sounding in English???

These are from the Dutch top 100:

Jack
Finn
Max
Bram
Willem
Roan
Owen
Oscar
Dylan
Morris
Casper
Robin
Jasper
Felix
Oliver
Victor
Otis

Owen and Dylan could be good options as they're Welsh.

Other Welsh names:

Aled
Evan
Idris
Morgan
Tristan

Love, love, love Bram.

Hilarious that Jack is a top 100 Dutch name, that's my husband's favourite!

A name that's in my family a lot is Hendrik and I do like it but worry that it sounds a bit old-man in Dutch and 'out there' in English.

When we were considering Welsh names for our LO iolo and osian were our favs!! 😊
I've never really heard any Dutch names before so wouldn't like to comment! 🙈🙈

I used to know a boy called Bram, although he was Danish not Dutch or Welsh. It's such a good name.

Is Dylan pronounced the same in the Netherlands?

Janika · 02/08/2017 18:08

Wim

I also used to know a boy called Wim...weird.

squoosh · 02/08/2017 18:14

Wim Wenders

Dylan is pronounced the same in Dutch but would be a bit of a 'Jayden' or 'Aiden' style name (trendy English names) so not sure.

I've known so many Brams in my life it's very run of the mill for me but can see how it's a nice name in English

Would definitely avoid Coen..... Also Gijs, Giel, etc... Smile
