Gravity

I've just seen a birth announcement for a baby called Gravity Blue. I've said it over and over in my head and it's scarily growing on me.
I ever so slightly wish I was brave enough to take the piss to pick some thing so original. But then, it's not me who has to live with the name is it!

Maybe if you're planning a serious, overweight child with a thick skin for all the bullying.

BelfastSmile · 27/07/2017 09:06

"Gravity" sounds awful; "Gravity Blue" sounds lovely! Weird.

SuperBeagle · 27/07/2017 09:30

This is how I feel about the names Sawyer and Sailor for girls. Love them, but was never brave enough to use either one.

MrsMarigold · 27/07/2017 09:31

Jesus wept.

bridgetreilly · 27/07/2017 09:33

Imagine being 45 when everything is starting to droop and your name is Gravity? No, thank you.

Timefortea99 · 27/07/2017 09:33

Jesus Wept is taking it a bit too far!!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/07/2017 09:51

😂

moggle · 27/07/2017 10:14

Hahaa Mrs I actually know what you mean!! It does kind of sound name-y, I agree. But I like names like Verity and it is kind of similar... Actually isn't Gravity a virtue? Like Verity and Chastity? I mean it doesn't just refer to the physical force.
"According to the Roman Virtues, gravity also refers to taking your responsibilities seriously and being earnest."
I can think of worse things...
Not one I'd use though!

alpacasandwich · 27/07/2017 10:15

Virtue names are risky anyway. I knew a Verity who was pretty much a pathological liar. It stands out a lot more.

17caterpillars1mouse · 27/07/2017 11:43

Agree that Gravity Blue sounds kinda nice and cool but assuming Blue is the mn?
Gravity on its own is awful. (Gravity Blue is probably also awful but gives lovely inmagery)

Is Gravity a boy or girl?

PurpleDaisies · 27/07/2017 11:44

Awful.

BikeRunSki · 27/07/2017 11:49

Sounds like cheap cider !

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 27/07/2017 11:51

It definitely grows on you the more you say it, doesn't it?

I think I like it. And Grav is quite a cool nickname.

Needsomeflapjacks · 27/07/2017 11:53

Gravy for a nn. .
Or Bisto???!

Mrsknackered · 27/07/2017 14:29

Yes, Blue is the middle name. It's a model in America's baby.
Did see in the comments someone referred to her as baby Titi which if it pronounced Titty is a lot worse than Gravity IMO!

OP posts:
TheNaze73 · 27/07/2017 14:32

It's marginally better than Pegasus.

Sophronia · 27/07/2017 16:40

Grav as a nn? Awful.

Topseyt · 29/07/2017 02:26

Bloody hell, awful.

Who the hell makes these names up? Poor kids having to live with them.

nodogsinthebedroom · 29/07/2017 07:37

Just looked this up. Dad's name is Lucky Blue Smith & mum is Stormi Bree. Tbf you couldn't say that they don't know what it's like to live with an "unusual" name.

Buntysoven · 30/07/2017 00:30

The mums name is a varient of Windy Cheese? Baby's getting off lightly! 😂

I wanted my boy to be called "Oliver-Eifel" DP did not like it if we ended up having another and it was a boy I'd be intrigued to know what people thought of it

I think that would definitely get me down!

Ojoj1974 · 30/07/2017 21:09

Gravity blue sounds like a new indoor trampolining centre..
