Do you like it, do you think it's dated and do you know any? Thanks. I love the meaning Star which is why I like it!

Due to excellent advertising campaigns, I guess, my instinct is to say 'Stella Artois' Grin

Karlakitten1 · 24/07/2017 13:12

Are you going to have another later on and call it Heineken? Sorry, I think it sounds like the lager or is just a bit odd. If you want star, go for it,, but again I think it sounds a bit council estate. Sorry!!! It's your choice though, and you go with what you like. There are much worse names.

DownUdderer · 24/07/2017 13:14

I like it I wouldn't associated it with lager

GeillisTheWitch · 24/07/2017 13:15

Seren is nicer imo, I believe it also means Star.

Marv1nGay3 · 24/07/2017 13:18

I think it's a pretty name. I do know one who is in her forties. Doesn't make me think of the lager.

AuntieStella · 24/07/2017 13:19

I chose this user name precisely because of the lager

Lolimax · 24/07/2017 13:19

I love it....have named my beautiful pedigree kitten it!

WhyNotDuckie · 24/07/2017 13:21

I love it, and I associate it with 'star' not anything else!

MyUnicornMadeMeDoIt · 24/07/2017 13:22

I don't mind I think it's nice but thinking about what other people have said what about find another name that means the same? Like Seren (Welsh). Although Stella McCartney doesn't seem to mind having the name. Ultimately it's your choice and if you live it nothing will beat it 🙂

Mrskeats · 24/07/2017 13:23

It's lovely-I may be biased as it's the name of my puppy!

MikeUniformMike · 24/07/2017 13:24

I like Stella. I dislike Seren as it is just a word for star in another language.

HMC2000 · 24/07/2017 13:24

I have one. A Stella that is: DH and I are from different countries, and it's the only name that works in both that we could agree on! I absolutely love it, but you do need to bear in mind the lager association when people first hear it. Once it's combined with a surname, though, I think it works - it's not attached to a particular class, or to a particular age group, and most people don't shorten it. We've never met another one, it's easy to spell and pronounce, and it has a lovely meaning. We don't worry about the Artois connection ;-)

Twerking9to5 · 24/07/2017 13:26

I really like it and considered it for DD. I have an great auntie Stella and can't shake off the elderly lady image! But, we met another couple on honeymoon - the woman was Stella and she was gorgeous and very cool. Doesn't make me think of lager at all!

OhOhDearling · 24/07/2017 13:26

I think it's lovely.

Bluntness100 · 24/07/2017 13:28

I don't like it at all, but I associate it with someone I don't like and also the lager. Seren is much better.

YorkshireTree · 24/07/2017 13:31

How is it council estate? Never heard anyone say that before.

Wolfiefan · 24/07/2017 13:33

Stella Artois has a certain reputation (found out on here!) Many people will hear Stella and think of the lager!

MikeUniformMike · 24/07/2017 13:35

Wasn't there a rival pub landlady in Corrie called Stella Rigby in the Bet Lynch years?

DryIce · 24/07/2017 13:37

I love Stella.

I would never have thought of it as "a bit council estate"!

DramaAlpaca · 24/07/2017 13:37

sounds a bit council estate FFS, what a ridiculously snobbish comment.

OP, I like it a lot. To me it's a classy, elegant name and I like its meaning. I don't associate it with the lager at all.

Mrskeats · 24/07/2017 13:42

sounds a bit council estate
What a horrible thing to say; it really doesn't

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 24/07/2017 13:42

I like it and know a few, but I live in a hipster haven.

Imaystillbedrunk · 24/07/2017 13:53

I love it. A really strong but pretty name.

Choccyhobnob · 24/07/2017 14:20

Not for me unfortunately as it's too closely linked with the lager which has a bad reputation where I'm from. It also makes me think of brassy haired soap character for some reason even though I can't think of one? Hmm

Janika · 24/07/2017 14:23

I love the name. Greatt Aunt (85)
Friend (55) and friend daughter (12)
