What do you think of it? Is it dated?

I like it. Definitely Stephanie spelling though. It is classic but not over popular. Lovely.

puglady · 21/07/2017 21:24

Love it, as above with classic spelling Stephanie

Will you be giving a middle name?

MikeUniformMike · 21/07/2017 21:31

I like Stevie as a short form. Not keen on Steph.

SuperBeagle · 21/07/2017 22:06

Don't like it at all. Very outdated, IMO.

But the spelling Stephanie is definitely better.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 21/07/2017 22:15

Love Stephanie/Steph.

Stephanie is a great classic name, makes a refreshing change from all the cutesy names like Evie, Ellie or Sophie.

Thanks for all your replies. The general consensus seems to be Stephanie. What about Stefania, considering Italian heritage?

It's dated, but I like it. I think it has a pretty sound. I prefer the Stephanie spelling.

thebigbluedustbin · 22/07/2017 00:03

I prefer Stefania.

MikeUniformMike · 22/07/2017 01:13

It sounds a bit too much like Melania for my taste but if you like it and have Italian connections then it's fine.

Joeybee · 22/07/2017 01:36

I like Stephanie/Stefanie despite the fact it is dated! I was born in the 80's and there were LOADS of girls in my school with that name.
It's a great strong name though, and I don't think it's dated enough that it's not useable.
I think in the UK people would automatically spell it 'Stephanie' but either spelling is good. Stefania is a great alternative too.

Glumglowworm · 22/07/2017 18:47

I know a teenage Stefania, it's a lovely name (she often gets Stef for short)

Stephanie does feel dated to me, but it is a nice name

Threeandabit · 22/07/2017 20:16

I like it. I also like Bethany.

stackedcups · 22/07/2017 20:18

If it's spelled with an F, I'd assume some mainland European heritage anyway. Stefania is also nice.
