Holly or Pippa

Hey, looking for some help! Due in 1 week and struggling to agree on names with my husband but I obviously want something he likes. We have narrowed it down to Holly or Pippa which do people prefer - is Pippa to cutesy for a grown woman and does it feel a bit pretentious (thinking Pippa Middleton unfortunately). Also Dorothy will be middle name and not sure Holly Dorothy works (? both having Ys at end - does it matter??) I never had a problem picking my little boys name so I can't believe how hard this has been.

How about Philippa nn Pippa? Agree that Holly Dorothy doesn't flow v well with the o and y sounds but people rarely say middle names anyway so that shouldn't be biggest concern.

Or, how about mashing the two together and using Polly?

I love Holly. I would have used it but I have several friends with this name!!

I like the suggestion of Polly. But otherwise I prefer Holly.

My niece is Pippa - largely goes by Pip nowadays - so my vote is for that, and it goes better with Dorothy.

Holly, but if you're very keen on Dorothy as a middle name then go with Philippa as it flows a lot better. Pippa for short as a nn then she has more choice as an adult

I love love Pippa! Unfortunately it's a rude word in many a foreign language and as we have family in one of the countries we could never use it. I do think it's something to bear in mind, though I much prefer Pippa to Holly and think it goes better with Dorothy.

Agree with PP, polly is great! Otherwise Holly, I really don't like pippa.
