Names with meaning

My mum passed away during my pregnancy- my partner isn't keen on family names- so I would like a name that was inspirational in the sense that this baby has given me hope in very sad times.

Any suggestions please for a both sexes?

I'm so sorry to hear you lost your Mum OP and at such a difficult time. How about going for something which means strength? So something like Angus, Oscar or Audrey.

Asha and Nadia mean hope. Matilda means strength in battle.

Dillon for a boy means ray of hope, Ashia for a girl means life and hope.

I know you said your DH isn't keen but is there a name that you could use as inspiration. E.g. Your mum's name or maiden name as a middle name, or if your mother's name was Elizabeth/Betty could you use Eliza/Beth/... as a name. There are some surnames that are suitable as first names (Allen, James, etc) and some not (Butcher anyone?).
Or maybe there was a place or object that meant something. E.g a flower or river or country?

I like hope but if you google names meaning hope or strength or fearless and so on you will get ideas.

Condolences op. I lost my mum many years ago and missed her hugely through my recent first pregnancy. We partly named our little girl after her - different spelling, middle name- and it gives comfort to think she'll be "present" through my daughter's growing up. Good luck!! X

Pandora. All the evils of the world came out of the box when pandora opened it, but what was left inside was hope. So I personally think of it as quite an inspirational story - that despite all the shit that goes on in life, there is always hope, which can allow for happiness again.

It is my DDs middle name for this reason. As well as being v cute.

Thea/Theo means divine gift/gift from God.

We went with one for our rainbow baby after recurrent mcs.
