Cecilia?

I've loved the name Cecilia ever since reading Atonement! I also love that she is the patron saint of music. DH thinks it's too repetitive on the 's' sound, which I suppose I can see. What do you think? I also like Cece and Celie/Celia as nicknames.
Someone just informed me that baby's due date is Saint Cecilia's day! Seems like fate? Do you like this name?

Love it. Also Cecily.

newmumFeb17 · 09/07/2017 18:20

I love it! Especially love Cece for short ❤️

mummarichardson · 09/07/2017 18:23

Love it

Allthebestnamesareused · 09/07/2017 18:25

I vote Cecily but like Cecilia too

SparkyBlue · 09/07/2017 18:27

I love it.

Love51 · 09/07/2017 18:28

You're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily.

EsmesBees · 09/07/2017 18:29

Love it. Considered it for dd2. I would use Cece as a nickname.

Enidblyton1 · 09/07/2017 18:31

Yes, love it.
So many nice shortenings as well - Ceci, Cece, Cissy etc

danTDM · 09/07/2017 18:32

DD's name, Cecie for short. Obviously I love it and it moves well within countries IYSWIM.

For example I don't live in the UK.

Definitely fate. And not very common, yet not unheard of!

Ah you got there before me!

In all seriousness it's a nice name, but yes, the song.

villainousbroodmare · 09/07/2017 18:47

... you're breaking my heart...

Jooni · 09/07/2017 19:24

I like it, but prefer Cecily. Love the shortenings too. It does sound like fate - use it!

TartanDMs · 09/07/2017 19:28

I like it, and I actually like the connotations with the song, which is about the saint and muse, rather than a woman.

Sophronia · 09/07/2017 19:28

Love it!

Firenight · 09/07/2017 19:31

I love it. Couldn't use for ours because it doesn't work with the surname but would be top of the list otherwise.

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/07/2017 19:31

My Mum and Gran's name, they were both known as Celia.
For that reason it just sounds very dated to me.

Raines100 · 09/07/2017 19:32

Lovely!

Orangedaisy · 09/07/2017 19:33

Sorry, hate it. Associate it with someone who is an utter loon.

friedegs · 09/07/2017 19:41

Just the most fabulous name ever! Couldn't use it myself as Cece already in family. A beautiful classic.

Pansiesandredrosesandmarigolds · 09/07/2017 19:43

Wonderful name.

SuperBeagle · 09/07/2017 20:05

Don't like it

Seems very old and also reminds me of celiac

MammieBear · 09/07/2017 20:35

Just the meaning of the name that puts me off (blind).

demirose87 · 09/07/2017 20:42

I really liked it when pregnant with DD2, just put me off that its a bit of a mouthful especially with my long surname. I also like celeste which I think is another form of the name x

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 09/07/2017 21:16

Sorry, too frilly for me.

RortyCrankle · 09/07/2017 21:18

Beautiful, perfect name.
