Right ladies give it to me straight. What's wrong with Arlo?
(Before I fall in love with the name!)

Nothing. I love the name.

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 07/07/2017 07:26

I like it.

BikeRunSki · 07/07/2017 07:29

I like it.

Sophronia · 07/07/2017 07:31

It's very trendy and a bit of a celeb baby name.

RelaxMax · 07/07/2017 07:42

Trendy. It will date your baby as being born around now.

Up to you whether you think that's an issue.

SuperBeagle · 07/07/2017 07:44

I don't like it. It's the epitome of trendy and will date awfully. And unless your baby is going to be born wearing flannel, with a moustache and drinking a piccolo latte, it doesn't work.

I know two Arlos born in the last 12 months. Both to parents who consider themselves hipsters.

user1459464195 · 07/07/2017 07:53

If you're looking for problems... yes it's trendy as previous posters have said. Also if you live in an area where the letter H is dropped it sort of sounds like Harlow (Essex).

That said, I think it's a perfectly OK name. Every name has potential pitfalls.

WanderingTrolley1 · 07/07/2017 07:59

Will date terribly.

VinIsGroot · 07/07/2017 08:02

I know 3 Arlo's born this year and 1 who is 7!
DS9 and DS7 both have quite common names ... Dd6 doesn't! We've only ever met 1 more but by the sounds of it ... It's becoming more common... I hear it on here lots!

APaperMe · 07/07/2017 08:09

I went to school with an Arlo, so don't see it as a trendy new name, I like it. I do remember back then the phrase Allo Allo popping into my head, but that was probably to do with with the dodgy TV show on at that time so not relevant now.

Misty9 · 07/07/2017 08:11

It's the name of the dinosaur in the good dinosaur. But I like it :)

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 07/07/2017 08:11

To me, it sounds faddy and trendy and like you have dropped the 'H' in Harlow. It's not the worst name in the world by any stretch but I wouldn't ever choose it myself.
All that said, if you love it, choose it.

flissfloss65 · 07/07/2017 08:11

Sorry, I think it sounds really ugly when said aloud.

petitesassygirl · 07/07/2017 08:13

It is the Keith/Kevin/Tracy/Karen type moniker of the future Confused

LilaBard · 07/07/2017 09:20

I actually lile it. Sounds lovely said in a posh RP accent. However y problem with it is I am from Northern Ireland and when I say it it sounds like something you'd name a cow.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/07/2017 10:03

I really like Arlo.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 07/07/2017 10:31

Lovely! I know two, so not commonly used, but not completely unheard of.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 07/07/2017 10:33

Lila

I know an Arlo from Belfast. It seems to work great there. The only thing is, people sometimes think his mum has said Orla when they ask what his name is.

Lemondrop99 · 07/07/2017 12:01

It is a bit 'of the minute', but I really like it as a name.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 07/07/2017 13:28

Makes me think of the cat from Bing, that's a good thing though Smile

MrsPicklesonSmythe · 07/07/2017 16:34

Depends where you live. Here it just sounds like Harlow which is definitely not the sort of place you'd want to be named after.

Yika · 07/07/2017 21:29

Extremely trendy, will be dateable almost to the exact year. There's one in my family, about 9 months old.

Marcipex · 08/07/2017 03:53

They are not all the same age, I know a very nice hipster trendy 12 year old Arlo.

Yorke00 · 08/07/2017 09:35

I really detest this name- it's so wannabe hipster. Cringe when I hear it shouted out in the playground.

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 09/07/2017 00:58

Love it.
