I really like this name and curious about other people's opinions? i would pronounce it Mee la.

Do you think it is fine as a stand alone name or will people presume she is Amelia or Camila etc?

Too celeb-ish for me due to Mila Kunis.

MikeUniformMike · 04/07/2017 14:44

Camilla has 2 Ls. If you like Mila then it's fine. Sounds a bit like Mealy.

Bubblesoup · 04/07/2017 15:06

I taught a little girl called Mila (her full name ) and she was a sweet girl. It isn't my taste in names but I think you should do it

Hammybear · 04/07/2017 15:08

I like it!

hellomarshmallow · 04/07/2017 15:11

I think it's quite popular at the moment. I like it too! Yes, mee-la

MiniDoofa · 04/07/2017 15:17

I like it and it's certainly popular at the moment. Often seems to get pronounced 'miller' so as long as you can live with that, it's all good. Smile

I like it. My hairdresser's little girl is Mila. I'd not heard of it till she told me her DDs name but I think it's lovely. Don't think there should be a problem with people assuming it's short for anything.

I know a Mila and I really like the name. Pronounced My-la

MyBreadIsEggy · 04/07/2017 15:21

mortificado · 04/07/2017 15:21

Mi la.
Pronounced as in Camilla.
Nice.

ColourfulOrangex · 04/07/2017 15:40

There is a little girl up my sons school called Mila, very cute IMO

thethreemonkeys · 05/07/2017 00:30

I think Mila (pn Mee-la) is a lovely name. I was going to call my daughter that right up to last few weeks of my pregnancy but decided on Maia (pn My-ah) in the end. I also really liked the spelling Milla but thought she'd end up getting Mill-ah so didn't want to go with that. I think it's a lovely choice and def fine as a stand alone name.

hophop333 · 05/07/2017 01:24

Why wouldn't it be a full name? Def a name in it's own right and growing in popularity (number 79 in the UK in 2015). I know a little Mila and the name has definitely grown on me, pronounced miller though

WyfOfBathe · 05/07/2017 01:32

I love it. It was on our shortlist for DD2. We also considered Milena with Mila (mee-la) as a nickname, but it's definitely used as a full name.

Raines100 · 05/07/2017 06:11

I know a little Mila, pn mee-la. She's very cute. Lovely name.

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 05/07/2017 06:42

Mila's nice. Yes, I'd instinctively pronounce it MEE-la.

JonSnowsWhore · 05/07/2017 06:52

Am in love with this name, & was my choice for a girls name. Wasn't to be as had a little boy & he will be my last, so I think you should use it in honour of me not being able to Grin

jennythebest · 06/07/2017 09:00

jon, it's looking like i will Smile

I love it! I know 2, both it's their full name and both pronounced Mee-la (one is a teen, the other a toddler)
