1st baby boy due in the next few weeks. We have been set on Felix for the whole pregnancy, but now thinking about Alexander instead.

Middle name would be "George". Please let me know your thoughts!

a) Felix George
b) Alexander George

Felix. Great name - I have one!

Felix because like you, I'm not a fan of the ever-so-inevitable Alex.

Stick with Felix! cat connotations don't really exist anymore as schools have children with all sorts of names, the reason it was associated with cat's is because St. Felix could apparently communicate with animals. Felix is a dapper name for a little boy. Wink

Alexander. Only know 1 in real life.

Alexander. It is popular but there are a great many options for nicknames if there are two in his class or his extended family: Alex, Alec, Zander, Xander, Sandy, Al, Eck and Lex.

In Scotland it is a classic name - never out of fashion.

I'm not fond of Felix.

Our reservation about naming him Alexander is that ultimately everyone will just end up calling him "Alex".

But if he likes that nickname, it doesn't really matter what you think, surely?

I have a Felix Alexander so of course I'm biased, best name ever!

Felix! Because who doesn't want a happy boy?
