What do you think of the name Dmitri for a boy or maybe the alternate spelling Dimitri or even the longer version Demitrius

It's not my favourite, just because I always think it looks like it's missing letters.

Also Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis just named their son this if that sort of thing bothers you?

I quite like it, though it'll always remind me of that character from Dostoyevsky's The Brothers Karamazov.

SoyUnPerdedor2 · 04/07/2017 05:36

I like it.
Especially spelled dimitri.
But then he could get dim as a nn.
Not quite so good!

MammieBear · 05/07/2017 09:48

Prefer Dmitri myself, it's an unusual choice quite Hispanic sounding.

Dimitri is a gorgeous name.

doodlejump1980 · 05/07/2017 22:50

In Scotland his nickname would be Del...

Demetrius is a beautiful name, it reminds me of A Midsummer Nights Dream.

well I love it, but I lived in a Russina speaking country and knew some lovely Dmitris.

I prefer the Dmitri spelling, as it is more Russian!

The Russian nn is Dima, which works well.

steppemum · 05/07/2017 22:56

Dima rhymes (sort of) with Nina
