What are your thoughts on the name Snow (for a middle name)?

Perhaps I'm in the minority but I think Madeleine Snow is a lovely name, really pretty but quite cool too. No one knows anyone's middle name anyway re school bullying... And if they did, all the other kids are likely to have more unusual names these days too - it's not like she'll be the odd one out amongst hundreds of Sarah Louises as she would have been when I was at school!

DeepPud, I am a mother tongue welsh speaker. Welsh is phonetic and Eira has only one pronunciation. if it was pronounced Eye-ra it would be spelt Aira. Out of interest, are you a welsh speaker? (not picking a fight, honest)

Eira is a beautiful name but I really don't like the Eye-ra pronunciation - it makes it sound like a Jewish boy's name.

Please don't give Nieve as a middle name, Snow is much prettier.

Well, it's a bit silly. It's a drug euphemism. And of course you'll get people doing the whole "you know nothing" thing.

I'm not first language Welsh but have learnt it as a second language in South Wales and live in West Wales and always pronounced it Eye-rah. As a first language Welsh speaker I am sure you're correct I have just never heard it pronounced that way, I know two little girls with this name too

Well done on learning Welsh. It is a shame that they are mispronouncing the name, when the correct way is so pretty.

Personally not convinced at all, think it just sounds odd. Agree Winter much nicer. But then I also dislike 'Blue' and some of the other word names that are becoming trendy now.

It's a middle name. Nobody will even know what it is, so you can use absolutely anything.

My DH's middle name is Mary.

Middle names can be different and will ensure your child is unique. Plus how many of your friends' middle names do you know? Madeleine Snow is lovely, go for it!
