I'm so surprised everyone is saying 2! I really don't see the point of middle names and didn't give my dc any. It's a none from me!

Have you decided yet, OP? I need closure and I need to know what you thought of my genius suggestion of Alicia Grin

Shiori · 04/07/2017 03:55

I'd rather have none.

itsbetterthanabox · 04/07/2017 14:52

None.
I think the trend for two is silly.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/07/2017 16:42

Long trend itsbetterthanabox, I'm into my 50's with two.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/07/2017 18:16

Well I'm just boring old no middle name Clare. I've never forgave my parents for giving me such an awful name. It can't be shorted or anything.
People often try and call me Clary.Grrrrrrrrrrr.
So definately 2 middle names

I think the trend for two is silly.

It's a very old tradition to have a Christian name, middle name, family name and surname, DH's goes back to the Tudors.

NataliaOsipova · 04/07/2017 22:24

I have two middle names. I've always hated it! I generally don't use the middle initials.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 04/07/2017 22:25

I have none and would prefer two!

BubblesBuddy · 04/07/2017 22:27

My Mum and her four brothers had three middle names each. My children's have two middle names. Gives the child a choice! I use my middle name, not my first name, and I am grateful for having it to use!

Montsti · 05/07/2017 11:07

Definitely 2! I don't understand when people don't have middle names...weird I know but probably because I've always had loads of names to use and I'm pregnant with no.4...

MrsJayy · 05/07/2017 11:12

I was only having 1 child so gave her 2 middle names (grandmothers) dd2 came along and I was stuffed she only has 1 (my grans ) I wish i had thought it out properly but panicked about offending a mum so gave dd those names. I don't have a middle name

elQuintoConyo · 05/07/2017 11:21

I have 3 Grin

My mum's name is a country and one of my middle names is the capital city of that country (think Australia/Canberra, but not!).

It is atriciously 70s, but i am actually quite proud of it and it causes great hilarity at dinner parties when we all insist on calling each other by our middle names (Clare really doesn't suit Hortense, etc).

The other two middle names are from grandparents/great-grandparents: Josephine and Lilian.

I love all 4 of my names.

So, I'd say choose 2 names rather than none.
