What names have this for a NN? I absolutely love it.

Bernard? Don't like Buddy but it's your baby.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 30/06/2017 15:19

Jehoshaphat. Fact.

BuddyDS · 30/06/2017 15:21

I have obviously changed my username, but my beautiful boy is a Buddy! It's just Buddy on the BC Smile

Buddy?

Buddy the Elf

grasspigeons · 30/06/2017 15:22

Isn't it a bit like sonny that you can use it as a nickname for any name?
I think it's an actual name in its own right as well.

IHeartKingThistle · 30/06/2017 15:23

I have a nephew called Buddy. Just Buddy!

sonlypuppyfat · 30/06/2017 15:23

It's OK for a family nickname but I can't imagine a grown man using it in a professional capacity

IHeartKingThistle · 30/06/2017 15:25

Puppyfat shit, I'd better tell my sister her DS will never amount to anything Hmm

Lilmy3 · 30/06/2017 15:29

I think any name can have the nickname Buddy

Or you could try to make his initials B.U.D like Ben Uther Daniel
There's not many U names... Ursa, Uther, Ulric...

OlennasWimple · 30/06/2017 15:30

Nick names tend to grow organically, not pre-determined. Why don't you use whatever name you want on the birth certificate and see if Buddy actually suits him as a NN, or maybe something else will come along that works better for him

GamesDoodle123 · 30/06/2017 15:32

Because I want it as his name.

Your Buddy is adorable!

Just looked and there was 150 Buddys last year, so I could use it on the birth certificate

Thanks. Seriously, don't listen to the negative comments!

RinonaWyder · 30/06/2017 15:33

Tom and Giovanna Fletcher called their son Buddy. I think it's nice!

FluffyMcCloud · 30/06/2017 15:37

Bartholomew? I love this name so much but DH said no :( i can see Buddy as a nickname, or Bart/Barty

OlennasWimple · 30/06/2017 15:38

Games - then use Buddy as his name, rather than trying to retrofit a "proper" name in order to allow you to use buddy as a NN

MikeUniformMike · 30/06/2017 15:59

BuddyDS, he's gorgeous.
OP, just use Buddy.

Sophronia · 30/06/2017 16:35

I know a Robert nn Buddy

bridgetreilly · 30/06/2017 23:24

Just call him Buddy, if that's really what you want.

If it were me, I'd call him a proper name, but just make Buddy the family name you use for him. Gives him more choices as he gets older.
