Looking for a boys name to match my daughters name. Maybe something quite old fashioned with a quirky nickname? TIA

First name I could think of was jack!

There's a blogger I follow who has Effie and Hux. Which really like too.

Percy
Rufus
Ralph
Max
Flynn
Albert (Bertie)

I quite like the names that end in a consonant rather than an -ie or -y sound with Effie. I particularly like Effie and Ralph!

First thought Arthur not sure needs a NN but could be Artie/art although there's a bookish Wart...

Augustus -gus or maybe Angus with Gus I just like Gus :)

Jacob
Jasper
Nathaniel - Nate

I think Laurence/Lawrence (Laurie/Lawrie) would go nicely with Effie.

What is it with nicknames?! Why not name your child Nathaniel and if it evolves as Nate than fine. British soaps do the same thing. Darren becomes Daz..Mercedes becomes Merz.. Chesney becomes Chez Confused

Dixiestamp · 04/07/2017 04:22

Alfred- you can always shorten to Alfie or Freddie.

bitofabelly · 04/07/2017 05:42

Easkey

I wouldn't try and match the names. I'd just chose your favourite boys name. They are a brand!

Wilfred with Wilf as nick name
