Middle name for Eli

QuestionARhino · 30/06/2017 10:58

Baby due in 10ish weeks. Girls name picked and love it, boys first name picked but I can't find a single middle name I remotely like but I still want a middle name.

Any suggestions for Eli? Surname begins with W.

We don't like traditional names; unusual names run in the family, but nothing outlandish or that looks made up 😅 don't want to name after ourselves or family members... also really picky so don't be offended if I veto your suggestions Blush I'm still grateful for anyone who takes time to throw options at us! And we are set on the first name, I know it's not to everyone's taste and that's okay Smile

No suggestions on middle names but wanted to say I love the name. I know one Eli and he's the coolest kid I know

Why don't you just relax and see what you get then OP? You might have a girl, so would have wasted so much time and thought. Plus you have six weeks before you register them, which is plenty of time to see what they looks like and what clicks/suits/sticks.

Good luck Smile

QuestionARhino · 30/06/2017 21:13

@RingTailedLemurFan haha because I feel like I'm not prepared if I don't have one picked. I know that sounds ridic!

EJ are good flowing initials and EJ as a nickname could work too so about about Eli Jay Whatsit?

RingTailedLemurFan · 30/06/2017 21:30

@QuestionARhino but you have a name picked! So you can tell people when he's born he is Eli, then spend a few days deciding on his middle name Smile

@DermotTheSprog I have an Elijah J-name, and he does indeed get called EJ sometimes!

RingTailedLemurFan · 30/06/2017 21:33

Sorry, also @QuestionARhino I loved Eli for a boy when I was pregnant with ds2, but for some reason he has always been an Elijah. Eli just really doesn't suit him (he's 3.5 now). Just thinking it might be worth putting Elijah on the birth certificate for flexibility (although ds1 doesn't have that haha! Think Sam on the bc Grin).

QuestionARhino · 30/06/2017 21:39

@RingTailedLemurFan hahaha that never even crossed my mind!! Good thinking, I've got at most 18 weeks to think of a middle name if I end up having a boy. Makes me feel a little better!

Yeah I'd like Elijah with Eli as a NN but OH didn't seem so keen. Might suggest it gives him the choice as an adult to go by whichever he prefers though.

Just so you know Eli was is number 112 last year and Elijah was number 46, so combined they would be even higher and really not unusual at all. You might not know any in your area but stats are stats.

For the record I think it's a great name and the initials E.J sound good, or E.T :)

@Mylittlesunshines I quite like Grey but DPs not so keen. Still nothing jumping out at me! I've even started using this website where you input first name, surname, and gender and it just generates random middle name suggestions.

Still nothing. 😠
