Middle name for Eli

QuestionARhino · 30/06/2017 10:58

Baby due in 10ish weeks. Girls name picked and love it, boys first name picked but I can't find a single middle name I remotely like but I still want a middle name.

Any suggestions for Eli? Surname begins with W.

We don't like traditional names; unusual names run in the family, but nothing outlandish or that looks made up 😅 don't want to name after ourselves or family members... also really picky so don't be offended if I veto your suggestions Blush I'm still grateful for anyone who takes time to throw options at us! And we are set on the first name, I know it's not to everyone's taste and that's okay Smile

I say I don't like traditional names and I am aware of the origin of Eli though it is unusual to me in that I've never met anyone or any babies called Eli and it's relatively unheard of. We're also not religious in anyway despite it being quite a biblical name. Just heard it once and liked it a lot.

I love the name Eli but just wanted you to know it's not that unusual, I know two and Elijah is also becoming more popular, but it such a lovely name

2014newme · 30/06/2017 11:08

Is eli for a boy, girl or both?

QuestionARhino · 30/06/2017 11:16

@BabbaE yeah I've noticed, still very unusual in our area though from what I can tell! I work with paediatric A&E & the maternity ward in our area and yet to see a document for one come past my desk!

@2014newme for a boy, we've got our girl's name chosen.

Eli Solomon
Eli Raphael
Eli Reuben
Eli Caleb
Eli Jonas

QuestionARhino · 30/06/2017 11:40

@Sugarpiehoneyeye thanks! I like Reuben from your list but unfortunately that was vetoed last night. I like Asher, which again is gaining popularity but not amongst our friends or in our area, but OH vetoed that too. Though I really like Asher so feel tempted to wear him down on that one but I'm not mean and selfish enough to do that. Especially as I chose both girls names Envy it's sometimes hard having an equal partner in things! I can't be my usual mildly controlling self!

QuestionARhino · 30/06/2017 11:53

Thanks both, all great suggestions but either someone we know and therefore we're automatically steered away from it no matter how hard we try to reason with ourselves. Or a name we've come across and already vetoed. I never knew I was so fussy tbh.

QuestionARhino · 30/06/2017 21:00

Still nothing! Wtf is wrong with me 😂 I think it's partly because even though I don't know what I'm having, and it's my first, I have this ridiculously strong feeling that it's a girl, and as irrational as it is part of me is thinking I won't even need a boys name anyway 🙄

OP posts:
Kardashianlove · 30/06/2017 21:01

I know 3 baby Eli (one is Elijah but goes by Eli) and I don't even know that many babies!

Just thought worth mentioning as you said you wanted something unusual. Even if it's not popular in your area at the moment, I would guess it will do soon as I think it's one of those names that is jumping up in popularity. I love it, btw.

Eli Emmanuel
Eli Lorenzo
Eli Jacob
Are the ones I know.

BewareOfTheToddler · 30/06/2017 21:02

Eli Nathaniel would be my preference but I think you've already vetoed that?!

How about:

Eli Grayson
Eli Laurence
Eli Lucas
Eli Fergus
Eli Felix
Eli Noah
Eli Nicholas
Eli Sebastian
