Hayden or Haydn?

I know Haydn is supposed to be pronounced differently, but I know 2 who pronounce it the same as Hayden. Also, it's a bit less Jayden, Kayden (I do like Caden though!)

Anyway, Hayden or Haydn???

I normally would've said Hadyn, but looking at them side by side..m Hayden

doubleshotespresso · 28/06/2017 13:02

Hayden- the other one just reads oddly to me.

Shesaysso · 28/06/2017 13:05

Hayden, Haydn looks like it's missing a letter to me.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 28/06/2017 13:07

Definitely Caden.

RubRubRubScrub · 28/06/2017 13:12

Caden isn't an option Grin

Hayden, to save a life of correcting pronounciation!

Amee1992x · 28/06/2017 13:32

Hayden.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 28/06/2017 13:50

Sorry RubRubRubScrub 😊
Hayden.

Sophronia · 28/06/2017 13:55

Hayden

ILookedintheWater · 28/06/2017 14:18

When you meet a friend on the street are you more likely to say 'Hey' or 'Hi'.
Decide based on that, or use the High Court Judge test (terribly biased and isn't real at all):
My Lord Hayden Jones
or My Lord Haydn Jones?

You must pronounce it as you spell it though: if you want Hayden don't spell it Haydn.

PotOfYoghurt · 28/06/2017 14:59

Hayden.

Kazzawazza69 · 28/06/2017 15:44

Hayden

Hammybear · 28/06/2017 15:45

Hayden

BertrandRussell · 28/06/2017 15:47

Educated people will pronounce Haydn Hy-dn.

How do you want it to be pronounced?

d2ydx2 · 28/06/2017 15:48

How is Haydn supposed to be pronounced?

RubRubRubScrub · 28/06/2017 16:15

@BertrandRussell one of the Haydns I know pronounces it Hayden and his parents are doctors!

Haydn should be pronounced high-den.

So I would definitely go for Hayden.

RiverTam · 28/06/2017 16:42

I know that the composer Haydn is pronounced Hi-dn, but I would still pronounced it Hay-dn if I saw it as a first name. Hayden looks all kinds of wrong to me.

SumAndSubstance · 28/06/2017 16:49

Another vote for Hayden because Haydn should be pronounced High-den
