I would think it's awesome, but i'm a big fan of:

Unadon · 26/06/2017 13:33

I'd go with Margaret or Megan or whatever other longer form of the name TBH. Reason being is that it gives them more options.

MadisonAvenue · 26/06/2017 13:37

My sons have short three letter names on their birth certificates.

They're short versions of longer names (think Sam instead of Samuel for example, that kind of thing) but we didn't like the longer names so wouldn't have used them plus the short names go better with our long surname.

Mrsknackered · 26/06/2017 14:20

I know just a Meg.
I also know a Cin, Tom, Sam, Ben, Joe, etc.
I love Meg. Hate Megan. So for that reason I say go for it.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Love it! I wanted it but DH said no because of Family Guy Sad

I don't hate Megan but just Meg is so great!

usernamenonumber · 26/06/2017 15:46

No.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/06/2017 18:33

I love Meg, but a longer name on paper, would be better, I think.
Margaret
Megan
Marguerite

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 26/06/2017 18:36

I would put Margaret on the birth certificate.

GirlcalledJames · 26/06/2017 18:38

Do it! If that's her name, that's her name.
Nobody complains about Evas and Avas not 'having other options'.
She can change to Margaret by deed poll if she ever feels the urge.

PatriciaHolm · 26/06/2017 19:00

Um... ;-)

PatriciaHolm · 26/06/2017 19:01

That was supposed to be under this...

Why not?

reuset · 26/06/2017 19:50

Yes, why not. Meg sounds fine alone.

UnconsideredTrifles · 27/06/2017 00:49

Go for it! I know a Meg with Margaret on the BC. She hates Margaret, especially having to put it on forms etc.

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/06/2017 01:00

Remember it's her name, not your name.
Trifles, After years and years of never using my full name, hating it etc, I actually find it quite useful now, it does sound more formal, makes me sound a bit more serious.
I'm glad now I have that option.

TheDropBear · 27/06/2017 01:08

This is always an option Grin
