Hello all

I'm not due til September so a little early to start panicking but we are REALLY struggling for ideas for names if we have a girl. We already have a daughter, Thea. Surname is 1 syllable, not too common but is v 'normal' as a first name so easy to spell, pronounce etc.

For a boy we will easily agree on something quite traditional.

For a girl we are at a total loss. We would like to avoid anything super popular, which excludes some lovely names eg Amelia, Matilda, Isabelle/a - they might give you an idea of the kind of names I like. I also want something not overly traditional eg Elizabeth, Sophie/Sophia (I like these names too but they are either too popular/traditional for me!)

Any thoughts...? Ideas that have vaguely floated around so far include Iris, Penelope (Penny), Violet, Livia...

All ideas welcome!

Loving lots of these, thanks! A few I have floated but DH doesn't like eg Cara.

I like Callie as a nickname but kept coming back to Calliope as the 'real' version and felt it was a bit much, so Callista is a good alternative.

Hadn't thought of Hazel - like it.

Love Claudia, is on my list already as a maybe.

Love how many of the suggestions are Classical Greek/Roman!

You could use Calantha with Callie as the shortening.

I think Ottilie Goes well with Thea.
