We are expecting our first child (a girl) in the summer and are having a real debate as most of the names we like appear in top 10 lists, looking at the stats they account for c<0.4% of all names so is this really an issue we should be concerned about? We don't have many friends who have children already and neither of us work with children so finding it hard to gauge popularity, but at the same time want to avoid any names that will be too popular, for example multiples of the same name at school etc... We live in London and our shortlist is as follows: - Sophia - both of our longstanding favourite but the more I read it sounds as if it is v popular! - Sienna - we both like - Imogen - although hubby not a fan Middle names - Rose - was our top but again sounds like v popular (especially paired with Sophia!?) - Mae - Elizabeth - Ruby - Grace Any thoughts / advice appreciated. Also if a name is popular, does this really matter?! To the child or to you? Thank you!
