Yes i have just watched the Film Age of Adaline & now i love this name! I prefer the spelling Adaline but maybe that is just because i have seen the film with that spelling. I believe Adeline is more common spelling. Which spelling would you go for?Easter Smile

I prefer Adeline.

Adaline looks like it'd be pronounced like the name Ada, with 'line' on the end. (Unless that's what you're after!)

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/06/2017 14:29

Adeline.

stuntcamel · 16/06/2017 14:31

Adeline.

OwlsinTowls · 16/06/2017 15:25

Adeline. Adaline looks misspelled to me.

OliveSoap · 16/06/2017 16:12

Adeline, definitely, because of Virginia Woolf. Though I think you will get people who aren't sure whether it's pronounced with the last syllable rhyming with 'pine' or rhyming with 'clean'.

A friend of mine has a daughter called Emmeline and they get the same issue.

msocean · 16/06/2017 18:32

Adeline, definitely.

villainousbroodmare · 16/06/2017 18:35

Adeline if you want it pronounced ADD uh lean.

SuperBeagle · 16/06/2017 20:01

Adeline

I would pronounce it add-eh-line to rhyme with divine though

LittleWitch · 16/06/2017 20:04

DS2s girlfriend is called Adeline. It's lovely and unusual, as is she.

TrishanFlips · 16/06/2017 20:04

Adeline

missanony · 16/06/2017 20:05

I love that film and the name, esp the nn dela

Thatextrainch · 16/06/2017 20:05

My friend used Adaline but generally calls her dd Ada.

Thingvellir · 16/06/2017 20:14

It's a vote for Adeline from me. Seems more like a 'proper' name and I hear it as Ad Elle leen in my head.

Unless you want nn Ada and pronunciation ay dah leen....

Sophronia · 16/06/2017 22:01

Adeline

EmilyBiscuit · 16/06/2017 22:03

How do you want it pronounced - ad-a-line or ad-el-ine?

IHaveACrapCat · 16/06/2017 23:06

Adeline - beautiful name

RosieKH · 17/06/2017 01:05

I thought Adeline was pronounced Ad A Line / A Del Ine? Thats what im after.. (not aid a line or aid a lean etc) Confused

Op I believe it can be pronounced either of your ppreferred pronounciations. My friend who uses Adaline with Ada as a shortening actually pronounces it as Ad-a-line.
