Hello, i have always loved the name but worried its old news now! What do you think? Is it better to go with Elizabeth or Eliza just as acceptable? middle name suggestions would be great

I like Eliza or Elizabeth shortened. Only thing is it can be shortened again to Ellie, which is quite boring now...

What about Elize if you're unsure about Eliza?

Kilop · 16/06/2017 09:38

Elize is nice but think i prefer Eliza xx

I prefer Elizabeth (biased as it's my name).

I don't think I'd go with Elizabeth if I wanted her to be called Eliza though, as it's not a natural shortening. Elizabeth invariably gets shortened to Liz/Lizzy.

Eliza is fine as a stand alone name.

I liked it too but it sounds very harsh in certain accents around here and I don't like Ellie as a likely shortening. We went with Esther instead for DD2.

Eliza is lovely and doesn't need a full name. It can stand alone. I really like Eliza.

It's difficult to suggest middle names without really knowing your style but I'll suggest a few of different styles

Eliza Daisy
Eliza Astrid
Eliza Megan
Eliza Sophie
Eliza Patience
Eliza Mabel
Eliza Gretchen
Eliza Nathalie

We have Eliza Valentina and people love the names

How about Liza, to avoid the nickname Ellie?
