Hi all

I am due in 6 weeks and would really appreciate your thoughts on names !

Our eldest daughter is called Everly Rose Tabitha and we are having another girl.

I've got quite a few names on the short list, all I like but don't love any like I did Everly so any other suggestions welcomed ! Middle names will be Romilly Thea or Thea Romilly dependent on which works best.

Options are:

Martha
Margot
Miranda (mimi)
Maggie
Laurel
Audrey
Freya
Matilda

Thank you!

Miranda and Martha are beautiful!

I dislike Margot (esp pronounced Mar-gott) and Maggie.

UsaNayme · 15/06/2017 15:01

Martha - maybe too similar to Thea?
Margot, Frey, Audrey - all nice
Matilda - I'm not a fan
Maggie - I think Maggie Thatcher milk snatcher, but that's a long time ago now so probably not a consideration
Laurel - will have to correct Lauren a lot
Miranda - I just think of the TV show

Decaffstilltastesweird · 15/06/2017 15:10

Margot is my favourite. I've only ever heard it pronounced mar-go. Don't like mar-got.

Teddy6767 · 15/06/2017 15:15

Freya is the only one I like. It's a really pretty name

grufallosfriend · 15/06/2017 15:20

Margot seems to be the french pronunciation. In German, Holland, Sweden etc it is prounounced Mar-gott.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 15/06/2017 15:25

Oh I see, thanks gruffalo. I speak French but no German, so maybe that is why I assumed mar-go.

Thanks everyone for your help so far. Just to clarify margot is pronounced mar-go if that helps x

Margot and Martha are my favs. Adore Margot. Also like Matilda although rather popular.

17caterpillars1mouse · 16/06/2017 07:36

Would love to meet a baby Laurel or Audrey. Both beautiful names

I also like Margot, Matilda (though we know several), Freya (so overused here), Martha and Maggie.

Basically I should of said I'm not been on Miranda as it makes me think of Miranda Hart lol

chipsnmayo · 16/06/2017 08:28

My favourites are Freya and Margot.

Matilda is also nice.

harderandharder2breathe · 16/06/2017 19:45

I think Everly and Romilly go nicely, would you consider putting that as a first name instead of a middle name?

user1482528086 · 16/06/2017 19:52

I know sisters where one has a similar name to your daughter and the other is called Edith. They sound lovely together

mummytobemaybe · 17/06/2017 00:09

Freya is the nicest
