For our son's middle name? He's going to be an Aidan.

Aidan Kenneth or Aidan Russell?

Russell

Decaffstilltastesweird · 15/06/2017 13:22

I prefer Aidan Russell, but not by much.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/06/2017 13:23

Russell

midsomermurderess · 15/06/2017 14:27

Kenneth. It's a good traditional Scottish name (although I really dislike Ken and Kenny).

kittybiscuits · 15/06/2017 14:28

Rock? Hard place?

dinosaursandtea · 15/06/2017 14:46

Kenneth Russell works if you're a fan of weird 70/s/80s British horror!

rainbowstardrops · 15/06/2017 14:55

Neither I'm afraid unless there's some strong family reason.
Each to their own though

OliviaStabler · 15/06/2017 14:57

Russell

UsaNayme · 15/06/2017 14:58

Prefer Kenneth, but Aiden Russell sounds better

AdaColeman · 15/06/2017 15:02

Aidan Kenneth works best, the linked "N" sounds join the two names in a very attractive, almost musical way.

Also, I was madly in love with a Kenneth for years, but that's another story....

DramaAlpaca · 15/06/2017 15:03

Russell

Roanna1 · 15/06/2017 15:10

@rainbowstardrops there is a strong connection, thanks. Maybe you shouldn't comment neither on a thread where it's clearly between 2?

If there's a strong reason op, surely it doesn't matter which we prefer?

Roanna1 · 15/06/2017 15:22

@Decaffstilltastesweird we can't decide and don't want 2 middle names as he will have DH's birth surname as a 2nd middle name.

Squishedstrawberry4 · 15/06/2017 15:22

Ross

Decaffstilltastesweird · 15/06/2017 15:24

If you've already got a middle name lined up, maybe that's enough? If you can't pick between the two that is.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 15/06/2017 15:26

Russell.

Roanna1 · 15/06/2017 15:27

@Decaffstilltastesweird it's a thing on both sides that they get a name from a family member. It's the same for our other DC and wouldn't want it different for 1 child.

chinlop · 15/06/2017 15:38

Russell.

MaidenMotherCrone · 15/06/2017 15:49

I've got a Kenneth Edward, he's also known as Kenny and Ken. He's very handsome, cool and a bit special. All the girls love him.
Here he is.

HibiscusIsland · 15/06/2017 15:53

I wouldn't mess with that cat. Wink

Sophronia · 15/06/2017 17:19

Kenneth

Decaffstilltastesweird · 15/06/2017 19:38

Can I change my vote to Kenneth because I love that cat so much? Grin

This sounds like a flip suggestion op, but you could try flipping a coin? I find it really helpful doing this when I can't make up my mind. I don't always take the advice of the coin, but it helps me realise what I really want; if I'm happy the coin has decided for me or disappointed that it's chosen the one I didn't want iyswim.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 15/06/2017 19:38

Sorry "flip suggestion" was an unintentional pun!

MikeUniformMike · 15/06/2017 19:41

I would say Russell but Kenny Kenneth the Ken the Kat has overruled that. Kenny Dalglish, Kenny Logan, Ken Dodd, Kenneth Branagh, Ken Barlow.

Kenneth the Ken is so beautiful.
