Geraldine

Or Gerrie for short?

Thoughts?

Why are you asking "for a friend"? Confused

ImADingleDangleScarecrow · 12/06/2017 22:10

Gerri doesn't look right - I think the nn is Geri. Like Geri Halliwell. Though I also know a female Gerry who presumably is really a Geraldine.

I'd try to talk your friend into choosing a different name personally Grin

FreeNiki · 12/06/2017 22:10

It's granny chic imo.

Dont like it.

Stressalot42 · 12/06/2017 22:11

Because we're sitting her chatting babes, she's pregnant I'm not!!!

No ulterior motive! Goodness me!

I'm totally thinking no, so we said sound it out!

Is that ok??

Why did you ask??

Imadingledangle

I agree!!! It's an aunts name, but maybe as a middle name?

PrincessPlod · 12/06/2017 22:25

Nope don't like it

SilenceOfThePrams · 12/06/2017 22:26

I like it. And Gerry works nicely as well as Geri or Gerri. Or Dinny.

dontcallmelen · 12/06/2017 22:28

I like it, I have two cousins (on each side of family) called Geraldine one has nn Gerry the other, has always been called by her full name.

Stressalot42 · 12/06/2017 22:29

Still saying no to her!! It's fine as a middle name (bit long??).

But maybe with a short first name?

Onceafortnight · 12/06/2017 22:30

Don't like it at all. I know one in her late 40s and it seems old fashioned for her.

missyB1 · 12/06/2017 22:30

It's a lovely name and definitely due a comeback.

MikeUniformMike · 12/06/2017 22:31

I know a Jerry. Just Jerry and I like it. Geraldine I'm not so keen on. There is Gerardine, as in Mrs Hemingway.

buttercup54321 · 12/06/2017 22:32

No don't like it at all.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/06/2017 22:33

Is the name sentimental to her.

dontpokethebear · 12/06/2017 22:33

It's a bit clunky, I think.

ABitOTT · 12/06/2017 22:34

I'm another who is not keen on the name. Always think of a Geraldine as a divorced bitchy, snobby woman in her 50s. Apologies to any Geraldines out there.

elQuintoConyo · 12/06/2017 22:36

Gerry reminds me off The Good Life - the guy in this photo:

The woman is called Margo.

I have a very soft spot for the show and the characters, and love both their names.

Geraldine could have the nickname Dina if the child wanted it.

SuperBeagle · 12/06/2017 22:47

Geraldine is so awful.

Lemondrop99 · 12/06/2017 23:52

Just makes me think of the Vicar of Dibley!

Not keen

orangeglove · 12/06/2017 23:55

I like it but biased by the fact that I know a Geraldine who is a wonderful person.

MargotLovedTom1 · 12/06/2017 23:57

elQuinto he was a Jerry, was he not? And I always thought Mrs Leadbetter was a Margot (hence my username Wink). Love the programme too.

I actually quite like Geraldine.

HangingRock · 12/06/2017 23:59

I don't like it.

Ceebs85 · 13/06/2017 00:02

Geraldine is a really ugly name imo

disneykid · 13/06/2017 00:03

Awful. Looks ugly.

Oscillationss · 13/06/2017 00:05

I prefer Genevieve
