Elizabeth or Rose

I'm expecting a baby in just over six weeks and we've chosen not to find out the gender.

I have two sons already and wanted to get to at least discuss girls names this time as we found out they were boys at the 20 week scans!

We have very traditional tastes and think we have now whittled it down to:

Elizabeth Scarlett
Rose Elizabeth

What do you think? I don't know any young children with either name but I think they're both beautiful...just really torn as to which i'd go for. Of course, it may well end up being a boy anyway and we're set on Benjamin Miles in that case!

Any views would be really appreciated.

Actually I can't decide! I think they are both beautiful classic names.

Elizabeth has more options re nnames I guess but is maybe seen as a bit posh. Rose is a name that wears well and could go anywhere.

Rose Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Rose - beautiful classic name and loads of options for shortening if you so choose

I love both. Had Rose on my shortlist and used Elizabeth as a middle name. I didn't use it as a first name because I didn't love many of the nns other than Beth which a relative has used.

Rose Elizabeth is beautiful! Not keen on Scarlett.

Rose Elizabeth

I also like Elizabeth Rose - just to be awkward.

Elizabeth is lovely and very versatile - Ellie, Libby, Lizzie, Beth, Betsy. Seems a shame to use as a middle name and not be able to use some of the lovely shortenings. And Rose is just beautiful.

I would have liked to use Rose as a middle name for Dd but it doesn't work with our surname.

Rose Elizabeth.

Elizabeth might be a theoretically diverse name, but she's guaranteed to get Liz/Lizzy as a default nickname. Speaking from experience here.

Rose Elizabeth would be my choice.

Rose is a beautiful name
