I misread as George Elliott, but I am not sure that would be a problem as most people don't use their middle names often. I like them both (not helpful)!

I really like Elliott, but I also really like Russell although I have slightly personal reasons for that. I also think Russ is kinda cool for a shortened version, Elliot doesn't have an obvious nickname.

If you name his Elliot George, you must read he books. Because people will ask. A dear relative was coincidentally given a famous fictional name and was very irritated whenever anyone asked and her mum said, no it's after a horse.
