Maddie or Madison?

We absolutely love Maddie.
We like Madison.
We dislike Madeleine.

Should we put Maddie or Madison on the BC? She'll be known as Maddie.

Madeleine is a definite no.

I'd put Madison on the BC.

Maddison on the birth certificate.

I had a student who always went by a more unusual shortened variation. Her name on the register was the short version but I used to always get confused when I'd get official things to pass to 'fullname' because it wasn't really used.
Her mum said it gave her options as an adult.

I don't think we would go for the Maddison spelling. It just feels like someone spelling Brooklyn as Brooklynn, etc.

Either spelling. I've seen both and don't know what the standard one is. Gut instinct is to go with the standard one.

Madison sounds masculine to me (and is a US city). If you love Maddie,l I'd just use that.

I am totally utterly biased but go for Madison. Madison is on my birth certificate but I am pretty much exclusively known as Maddy or, usually, Mads.
