Alliteration names?

My DH and I have almost settled on a name for our DS (I am 22+3) we both really like it, but when we mentioned it to our folks, they thought the name was too similar to our last name. Both begin with an F, the first name being Flynn, and it's started to make me doubt the name, even though I love it. Should I just stick with what I love or will it sound silly?

Does the last name have a similar "ring" to is. Sylibles etc.

So Charlottle Campbell is fine and lovely, Dylan Dullon not so much. If that makes sense. Ultimately it's your baby and not theirs. Flynn is a lovely name.

Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way.

I LOVE names that do this I once met a Rhian Houlihan. But I'm not sure that I love it in a "I wish that was my name" way.
More lightly amusing. Always made me smile and I would ALWAYS say her full name.

I don't think it's a problem as such.

I like alliterative names, but I guess it does depend in the actual name. Does your last name have l's and n's in it too?

I usually like alliterative names along as they aren't too twee or rhyming sounding

Flynn Foster or Flynn Fenwick fine

Flynn Flint or Flynn Finnegan too much imho

They are somewhat similar Confused my DH thinks he'll sound like a cool superhero with this name, I'm now not sure. Thank you also! Smile

As others have said it depends on the sound of your surname as to whether it'll go.
Although it never bothered Neville Neville's parents 😂

I know a David Davies and I think that's so bloody odd.

Something like Flynn Ferguson works where something like Flynn Fox doesn't.

I really like alliteration names, go for it!

I think they can sound great.
