What are your thoughts?

I really like it. Understandably, many will say old fashioned but I think it's cool as well as classic Smile

I also like the meaning. DS was originally a triplet so my only survivor of the 3 Sad He is also a baby after multiple losses, one of which being twin boys.

My Grandmother insists he will get bullied with a name like Vincent. I said I can't see why, given some of the names of today's children.

I absolutely love it!!!
Cool and classic. And he can be Vinnie to his teenage mates- so cool. Vincent is a very noble name on a man.
What is the meaning?

So sorry for your losses Flowers

Thank you Nassau!

It means Conquerer and victorious... which is true for him.

I think your grandmother - no disrespect to her - is probably pretty out of touch with modern naming styles.

Vincent is very cool. It is increasing in popularity (not exploding but slowly on the rise) and I can't see a single reason anyone would get bullied for it.

I love it, but I don't like the nn Vinnie. Actually, I went to school with one and he was mostly known as Vince.

Blinkyblink · 07/06/2017 12:00

Love it!

My second favourite name (after my DS's!)

HGisme · 07/06/2017 12:00

YouWhat I'm not too bothered by Vinnie as nn, sounds very Italian Mafia to me Grin

Then again, he could just correct people with a straight face and say "It's Vincent"

I love it because of the Don McLean song of the same name about VanGogh.

cherrydels · 07/06/2017 12:25

Vince is nice nn too !

Tastesjustlikecherrycola85 · 07/06/2017 12:26

I like it!

BlondeGinger · 07/06/2017 12:29

I like it! It's really cool.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 07/06/2017 12:29

Vincent is lovely. Know a roughly 8yo one and think it works on all ages. It also travels well.

grufallosfriend · 07/06/2017 13:14

Vincent is great! Can't see what could possibly be tease worthy?!

Jooni · 07/06/2017 13:23

Congratulations OP and sorry to hear of your losses Flowers

Vincent is a good strong name, and the meaning makes it feel very fitting. I like Vinnie/Vin a lot, Vince less so, but he'll have plenty of options to shorten it if he wants.

PodgeBod · 07/06/2017 13:26

There's a Vincent at a baby group I go to. I was so surprised when I heard it but I think it's really, really cool.

Lemondrop99 · 07/06/2017 13:52

Vincent/Vinny is quite "in" at the moment. I don't think anyone would raise an eyebrow at your choice, nor would he get bullied.

This is a special baby who deserves a special name. If you love it, go for it.

NassauBeach · 07/06/2017 15:27

Lovely meaning to the name- and how appropriate. Go for it OP. And congratulations!

29Palms · 07/06/2017 16:19

My Grandmother insists he will get bullied with a name like Vincent

What a ridiculous thing to say. Names are often manipulated for teasing purposes, but I can't see anything obvious about Vincent. Kids always find something if they want to tease each other anyway.

grufallosfriend · 07/06/2017 16:49

A much more tease worthy name is William with Willy Blush!

But Vincent...?!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/06/2017 17:01

Vincent (Vinnie) Is a fan name. Its not tease worthy at all.

Sophronia · 07/06/2017 17:06

It's lovely.

MiniMaxi · 07/06/2017 17:10

Great name! Vinnie is cute and Vin is cool.

So sorry for your losses OP
