Think they are nice names, but prefer them spelt with a C.
Carly and Callie. I think they seem softer and more feminine, the K is very harsh.

Carla
Ciara
Cadence
Cassie

Kari is a lovely name- an exception to the rule that I dislike names beginning with K. Underused, cool and means 'pure'.

FizzyGreenWater · 03/06/2017 13:08

As you can see, lots of people really dislike K names! - and I do think that it's such a harsh letter.

So to start, how about Carly with a C? Or, some lovely longer forms which you could then shorten to Karlie/Carly? -

Carlita
Carlotta
Carolina

Other K names which seem less 'hard' to me:

Kira
Katherine
Kitty
Kristina
Kezia
Keira

Other names which you might like if you like Karlie:

Chloe
Cleo
Cally
Lola
Lily

I'm a Kirsty and I consider that a name which is definitely a K name (don't love it, but it's ok). I was going to be Kylie but my mum had a lovely Scottish midwife who said Kirsty was nicer but still had the K and the Y which my mum wanted Confused (thank you to any Scottish midwifes working in Guernsey circa 1981!!!)

There are names which, imo, are so much nicer with a C than the harsher K:

Catherine
Carly
Cerys
Cadence
Chloe
Ciara

If you are desperate for a K name, how about:

Kirsten (I wish I was a Kirsten rather than a Kirsty)
Kitty
Kimberley (bit dated)
Kristen

Mollie85 · 03/06/2017 14:23

Sorry to clarify, when I said "definitely a K name" I meant a name which is not interchangeable between the K and the C.

although I believe in Ireland it could be ciorstaigh as there is no K in the Irish alphabet
