Which do you prefer? Isla or Pippa? Probably Helen as a middle name. Or any other suggestions for names like these?

I like Isla better.

Redpramlady · 30/05/2017 21:54

Pippa is my fav name but it's slang in European countries for all sorts! So didn't use it :-(

fannydaggerz · 30/05/2017 21:55

I prefer Isla. I think of pippa from home and away (many moons ago)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/05/2017 21:55

Pippa as Islas are everywhere, plus. Pippa Helen goes a lot better than Isla Helen.
Other suggestions.
Poppy Helen
Piper Helen

I love the name Isla but where I live it's so so so popular - like three in every nursery class popular.

SuperBeagle · 30/05/2017 21:56

Isla.

I've never warmed to Pippa.

over101 · 30/05/2017 21:59

Pippa is more common where I live so have been leaning towards Isla. I like Poppy but my husband isn't keen. Totally undecided on boys names...I like fairly traditional but not overly common names for but it's so hard.

Isla Helen is lovely.

PossomInAPearTree · 30/05/2017 22:00

Philippa Helen with Pippa as a nickname is lovely.

Epipgab · 30/05/2017 22:14

They're both nice!

Iona
Eleanor
Polly
Isadora
Jasmine
Iris

I love Iona!! Also considered Aoife Smile

Philippa Helen nn Pippa

over101 · 30/05/2017 22:55

A close relative is called Philip so Philippa is a bit close. Also not keen on shortening names to nicknames.

In that case don't go for Pippa. She would never be able to holiday in various European countries.

Jooni · 31/05/2017 05:30

I love Pippa so much but the slang issue is a pretty big one.

Isla is a bit dull. Iona is fab though!

SuperBeagle · 31/05/2017 05:57

How about Polly or Piper for other short P names?

titsbumfannythelot · 31/05/2017 06:09

Isla is beautiful

shesabrick · 31/05/2017 06:33

Isla is a lovely name.

Pippa is nice but it is a nickname and if you don't like Philippa then I would avoid it as she will have people assuming it's her name her whole life. Rather like using Becky on a birth certificate.

Loopytiles · 31/05/2017 06:34

Helen!

17caterpillars1mouse · 31/05/2017 09:41

Isla is everywhere making it a bit dull for me. I know so many under 1s names Isla.

I like Pippa, though prefer Pip. I'd probably have it as a nickname for Philomena or Phillipa

Argeles · 31/05/2017 11:52

Isla. I personally am not fond of Pippa.

TurquoiseDress · 01/06/2017 10:48

I prefer Pippa

Isla feels like it is everywhere

or just go for Poppy!

MissBax · 01/06/2017 10:51

I prefer Isla but it's VERY popular now!

Rockaby · 01/06/2017 12:32

Pippa, but I would have it with Philippa on the bc, just in case she ever moves somewhere where Pippa means wank (or whatever it means). Gives her the option to be known as Philippa and fill in forms with Philippa.

Isla is pretty but I find it a bit overdone.

Rockaby · 01/06/2017 12:33

Like pp suggestion of Piper or Polly instead.
