Katie Rose is lovely. Rosie Kate sounds like a description of Kate iyswim.

You should give her the full name of Katherine or Catherine so that she has some options. You can still call her Katie.

I speak from experience as my parents cheated me gave me a shortened form of a longer traditional name. I have always disliked my name, and wished that I had had the flexibility of the full name. It would have made no difference to them as they would still have called me by the name they chose. But it would have made the world of difference to me.

Remember, it will be HER name that she has to live with, not yours. A name is a gift - make it a generous gift.

Caitlyn or Kathleen are popular versions of Katherine you could use if you prefer a longer name that can be shortened to Katie.

Aw she's so cute!

No, we definitely don't want a longer name. Katie is far more popular than Katherine, so I doubt she would be too worried Smile

That is a very selfish attitude IMO.

SomeoneSpecial · 28/05/2017 15:14

But Katie is more popular? Confused it's a known name. It's not selfish. Do you think all Maisies/Maisys should have Margaret on the BC?

Katherine Rose

Rosie Kate sounds a bit descriptive.

SomeoneSpecial · 28/05/2017 15:24

We're not going for Katherine - we don't like it.

Katie Rose by far.

Rosie Kate sounds like a description of someone called Kate (even though I know that would be a different spelling).

If you don't like Catherine/Katherine, have you considered Caitlin as a longer, more formal name which could be shortened to Katie? Caitlin Rose shortened to Katie Rose works beautifully for a child and an adult.

Congratulations what a gorgeous little one. We had similar issues with my dc4's name. In the end it didn't matter which way sounds better as he only gets called the first name and now I wish I had put them the other way round. Choose which first name you like best (though I love the name Rosie for what it's worth).

Lol @ 29

Love Rosanna. The middle name is neither here nor there as you won't use it on a regular 'saying her name' basis

I think I'd go for Rosanna and call her Rosie or Rose
