Girls names - thoughts / alternatives?

Hi!

Struggling to choose a name for dc3 (dd). We already have a Hattie (Harriet) and an Angus.

List (in alphabetical order) is: (favourites with )
Clara
Eleanor (not Ellie)*
Elizabeth (Eliza? Lily? Beth?)*
Genevieve (Ginny)*
Jocelyn (Joss)
Meredith

I -love- Cecily best of all but DH vetoed. We both love Charlotte but DH vetoed as too popular currently.

Any thoughts on these or suggestions of others which might work? Thanks.

I think there's a high chance that Eleanor will be shortened to Elle or Ellie.

I like all from your list apart from Jocelyn. But Eleanor will definitely be shortened by others to Ellie.

I love Genevieve and Ginny! Cecily would have been lovely, shame your DH doesn't like it.

I think Clara and Meredith go especially nicely with your other children's names.

How about Beatrice, Evelyn, Juliet, Josephine, Verity...?

I don't think you could avoid Ellie with Eleanor. I love Ginny but I always think Genevieve sounds stuck up

I love Clara and Genevieve.

Not a fan of Eleanor (I'm in the minority on that though), Jocelyn or Meredith.

Word of caution re Elizabeth. Don't use it if you hate Liz/Lizzy, because she will get called that at some point. It's the default nickname. I think people would look at me like if I tried to use Lily because most don't know it's a diminutive of Elizabeth and it's such a common standalone name; and Eliza has never been attempted by anyone, presumably because the sound is completely different.

Aw Cecily is such a unique nice name, would your husband maybe like Cecilia instead?

I prefer Elizabeth. How about Libby as the short form? Or Lisbeth?

Eleanor shortened to Nell.

Elizabeth (Eliza) is by far the prettiest.
Not thrilled about the other names.
If you don't like Ellie. Stay away from
Eleanor

I love Eleanor and I like Clara. I'm not keen on Genevieve - not sure why.

Shame to rule out Charlotte if you both love it. It may be popular, but it's not "faddy" which makes a big difference IMO. It's a classic name which has never been out of favour.

I have a Beth ❤ And I love it more as she grows up. We contemplated Elizabeth but decided on just Beth.
Meredith and Genevieve were also on my list but vetoed by DH.

I'm not keen on Eleanor or Jocelyn I'm afraid.

AMAZING name choices: we already have an Angus and had he been a girl he'd have been a Harriet! No real suggestions to offer but watching with interest as I'm pregnant with DC2 and clearly you have great taste in names...

I love Meredith and we've been keen on Martha lately too.

I love love love Clara! It's so pretty and timeless too without ever seeming old fashioned. I'd have it for a DD in a heartbeat but DH's ex gf had the name and for some reason that makes his no list 😂

Clara is the clear winner from your list for me.

I love Eleanor (but I'm Eleanor so I'm very biased). I do get called Elle though by everyone so if you don't want shortened names then Eleanor might be one to stay away from.

I love Elizabeth too. I also love Lily and beth.

I wanted Genevieve for DC2 but DH said no . I also like Eleanor from your list but agree it will definitely get shortened to Ellie.
