What do people think of either

Aida Rose for a girl

Or

Riley James for a boy

Like Aida, but prefer Ada. I am just a bit bored of Rose as a middle name, but it's perfectly nice.

I don't like Riley personally, but love James, so would use that as a first name.

Rockaby · 23/05/2017 15:02

Oh sorry is Aida pronounced Aid-a or Eye-EE-da? If it's the latter, I really like it.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 23/05/2017 17:27

Aida like the opera/musical is lovely but might get mispronounced as Ada. I love Ada though and it's our number 1 choice.

I know a sweet Riley but for me it's completely different taste in name to James and Ada! I think it will date too.

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 23/05/2017 18:48

Aida Rose is nice. Ada Rose would be really lovely, but Aida Rose is fine.

I don't like Riley. But James is a great name.

lavanderballs · 23/05/2017 20:54

I actually think Ada rose too (I mistakenly thought Aida and Ada were pronounced the same)

Yeah I'm on the fence about Riley but struggling with boy names. I'm not keen on classic names but like wise nothing too out there

Aida is a fabric used in cross stitching. If you want it to be pronounced Ada, then I'd just use that spelling for simplicity.

I'm not fond of surnames as first names generally, so Riley isn't really my cup of tea, I'm afraid.

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 23/05/2017 21:17

So... a boy's names that isn't classic...

Idk, maybe Hunter, Falcon, Valour, Zenith, Torquil, Bo, Ulrick, Merit, Apex, Vercingetorix (ok, maybe not) or Peregrine? Do you want a name that's modern or something obscure?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 23/05/2017 21:34

I prefer James Riley.
Do you like Ida Rose OP ?
I do like Ada and Ava, both nice.

CocoLoco87 · 23/05/2017 21:35

I think of Riley as a girls name. What about Beau, Bodhi, Eja (pronounced Asia like the continent), Asher, Roman, Jared, Samson, Zebedee
