Thoughts? Would you think boy or girl?

Skibbereen is quite scenic, I believe... And won't raise many more eyebrows than Dublin.

SpornStar · 19/05/2017 18:25

nice it's a real place! Honest. Very pretty little town in Donegal. Well known for its diving club...

MargeryFenworthy · 19/05/2017 18:26

What about Abu Dhabi? A nicer ring to it 😃

Maudlinmaud · 19/05/2017 18:26

Have you considered baile átha Cliath?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 19/05/2017 18:26

I would think city.

Lightship · 19/05/2017 18:26

Baby Skib. Grin

Lissette · 19/05/2017 18:27

What about Anna Livia if you wanted a Dublin tribute for a girl?

I really hope you are making that up Caoraich Grin. If I was them I'd have gone for river names Corrib and Dee!

Whereisthecake · 19/05/2017 18:30

Why not go for something classy like Hull, Leeds, Sheffield? 😂

Please don't embarrass your child.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 19/05/2017 18:34

I do know a little girl called Aberdeen whose brother is Galway.

I don't like the fashion of using place names for children. But those are especially bad (imo!)

Nellyphants · 19/05/2017 18:34

There's so many other nice Irish place names like bastardstown or effin?

Maudlinmaud · 19/05/2017 18:37

I have known a child with a famous city name followed by a saints name. Don't want to out myself but trust me it's shocking bad.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 19/05/2017 18:40

Nelly

Ardara and Lifford, maybe? Idk ;)

Hastalapasta · 19/05/2017 18:41

Maudlin Vatican Peter? Grin

caoraich · 19/05/2017 18:41

Lissette I do too!!

Now imagine: "Aberdeen, come in out of the rain!!" yelled across a village green in a strong Brisbane accent. In the West coast of Scotland.

The poor kid had a "nice, unusual" name in Brisbane. I suppose it's like me calling my kid Sydney then emigrating to Oz.

Back on the Dublin topic, I have just informed my OH of this thread and he says it's a fantastic, strong name for a boy.

I suspect he may be biased, being from Chapelizod (which I am reliably informed is The Best Part of Dublin).........

Nellyphants · 19/05/2017 18:43

Cricket

Doodys bottom. & cum

mustiwearabra · 19/05/2017 18:44

OH is Irish and I lived there for years. Not a chance anyone would name their baby this. I'd go with SpornStar's suggestions.

Lissette · 19/05/2017 18:50

Oh dear God Caoraich. They live in Scotland?! I love Aberdeen - I live there and I love my home city Dublin too but I don't think I like them as names!

Your husband clearly hasn't been to Dalkey Wink

Maudlinmaud · 19/05/2017 18:52

You even have a great song to go with it.
