What are your thoughts on Penelope?
Would she be Penny? Love Penelope not sure I'm keen on everyone calling her penny.
Thank you x

Love it, she could be Nellie or nell rather than penny

Mumoftheark · 07/05/2017 22:29

Awww I never even thought of Nellie as a nn. I really like Nellie actually. Thank you

I really like it :) !

Sophronia · 07/05/2017 23:40

I know a Penelope who goes by Poppy

Maggie2828 · 07/05/2017 23:49

Lovely name. The Penelope I know uses Pen as a nn, never Penny.

CakeRattleandRoll · 08/05/2017 01:15

Lovely name.

NuffSaidSam · 08/05/2017 01:24

I really like it. The Penelope I know is a Nell, never a Penny.

SuperBeagle · 08/05/2017 03:44

I like it a lot, but it is increasing significantly in popularity with each year.

Not a fan of Penny or Nell/Nelly, but I have heard of Poppy and Polly as nicknames.

KoalaDownUnder · 08/05/2017 04:10

I don't like it at all, but I'm an outlier there, I think.

Sophronia · 08/05/2017 05:34

I liked it until Kourtney Kardashian used it

YoungYolandaYorgensen39 · 08/05/2017 08:02

I love it and all the variant short forms. I know three ranging from 70 down to 11: Pen, Nell and Pea!

AnotherAnnoyingMother · 08/05/2017 09:06

We have a Penny and I love her name. Like Nell too as a shortening for Penelope but Nellie makes me think elephant hence we chose Penny - but she can change that if she likes

JoWithABow · 08/05/2017 09:17

Dislike Penny, and Nellie too (elephant) but Nell is a nice nickname. However I think you cAn only choose this name if you like all its shortened versions, as it won't be you who gets to decide which one gets used.

Mumoftheark · 08/05/2017 12:42

😂🙈 Nellie the elephant - I now have the song stuck in my head.

Penny, Nell, or Poppy.
Poppy is sweet.

Newmrs22 · 08/05/2017 14:52

I know a Penelope who goes by the nickname Peps

JessieEssex · 08/05/2017 16:30

I have a Penelope, she's a Nelly or a Nell at the moment but I love that she can choose from loads of other derivatives if she wants to when she's older.

BlondeGinger · 08/05/2017 16:33

Oh I love Penelope. I love Nelly as a nickname.

fuckoffdailysnail · 08/05/2017 17:06

I've got a Penelope and we've had so many compliments on her name! She goes by pen, penny, pea, nell and Nellie so a real mix!

SirNiallDementia · 08/05/2017 17:07

Lovely name imho Smile

Mumoftheark · 08/05/2017 17:15

Thanks everyone.
I'm surprised at how many positive comments there are. Ok it's going on the list :)
