Boys names

With DD we were always set on Poppy from the off. We never had a boys name....she would likely have been Fred ( Frederick) but I still had niggles about it.

We are having a boy this time and still have no stand out names. I'm drawn to one syllable names that have a longer variation but we can't agree on a name. Fred is still on the list but I have reservations still.... I'm not so keen on Frederick ( or Alfred or Wilfred), I also have a friend with an Alfred (nn Fred) so don't really want to "copy".

My top names:
Fred
Frank
Zak
Cole
George ( DH hates!!)

Kind of like Stan but feel a bit indifferent.

DH loves Reggie but I hate Reginald & not overly keen on Reg.

What else might we like??

I met a baby Joah recently and really liked the name. Surprised myself as I don't like Jonah, Jonas or Noah but Joah is now a new favourite.

Cole is really nice! i also like Frank

Wilfred is so lovely. One of my favourite boy names. I would shorten it to Wilf rather than Fred though.

How about Francis with nn Frank or Gabriel with nn Gabe?

Finley/ Finlay (nn Fin) ?

Babyblues14 · 03/05/2017 18:24

Dylan

Some great suggestions. I've put forward Sidney and Franklin so will wait to hear back on DH thoughts. Not keen on Finley or Dylan & quite a few suggested are the name of friends kids....Ben, max, Oliver. Grr naming boys is so hard!! I had about 15 girls names I could have chosen between if DS had been a DD!!
