I think it's a dogs name.

I like Fern.

I can see where Frilly is coming from as I do know 2 labs & 1 Springer Span called Fern but the same can be said for Meg(an), Jess(ica) & a whole host of other names too so don't let it put you off.

Very niche Fern reference ahead:

In 80s tastic movie Baby Boom Diane Keaton is about to give her inherited baby (it was the 80s) up to Midwest hick religious couple. They tell her they're going to change baby's name from Elizabeth to Fern. So she calls the adoption off.

For some reason that's my first Fern thought.

It's a dated nature name to me like Dawn or Hazel. But not awful or anything.
