I've never met a pleasant Naomi, so am probably unreasonably biased (sorry lovely Naomi's, I'm sure you're out there). But I do also think there is something whiny about the sound of it, whichever way it is pronounced.

I like NAY- omy, but not Na-OH- mee, so I wouldn't use it.

I love it. It's my DDs middle name and everyone comments on how lovely it is. It's a very bouncy name to pronounce. We say it NayOhMe.
I know 3 other adult Naomis and they're all fab women.
