what are some of your favourite non popular girl names / underused girl names? I love elegant but simple names such as Violet and Harper but they are too popular for me :(

Daphne!

6 month old ds would have been a Daphne. Will never have the opportunity to use it now.

SpreadYourHappiness · 25/04/2017 09:28

Oh Daphne is such a pretty name.

BrucesTooth · 25/04/2017 09:33

I know four Elodies and four Violets, all under 5.
I like Tamsin.

I think Elaine, Sheila and Caroline sounds lovely when you say them but you don't hear of girls called them.
I had boys so couldn't use them!

Elaine always seems like a "bulky" name to me rather than elegant.

Hattie is lovely.

Marigold (Shortened to Mari)

Pearl (this is my dd's name and as a quirky tween she's quite proud it).

Manon.

Hazel.

Clementine.

Eloise.

My dd is 12 now though so I may be way out of the loop with trendy baby names.

This is the only thread where I've seen both DD's first name and her middle name Smile

SuburbanRhonda · 25/04/2017 12:40

Pearl is a beautiful name.

As long as you don't have a DS called Dean Grin

Autumnsweater · 25/04/2017 12:44

I loved Eleanor but having a boy.

Sighsofthetimes · 25/04/2017 12:49

Agree with WhereThe and BlondeGinger about Meredith.

Had a school friend called this, she was nicknamed Merry, and I always envied her name (and her lovely hair) Smile

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 25/04/2017 13:13

Another Daphne vote. I love it but DH has vetoed.

If Harper is too popular what about Hester?

Mrsknackered · 25/04/2017 13:47

Ok lumberjack I absolutely love Manon, completely forgot about that name
