Hi would you use a first name that starts with the same letter as your surname? I love the name Heidi but babies surname is H as well not sure if that bothers me or not

Yes, I would. I quite like alliteration with names.

BarneyRumbleton · 24/04/2017 22:06

Yes, I like alliterative names too.

BarryKwipkee · 24/04/2017 22:06

I did. It sounds good!

Optimist1 · 24/04/2017 22:07

I have an HH in our family - tried in vain to find a middle name starting with R so that any monogrammed items would be HRH! Smile

DramaAlpaca · 24/04/2017 22:07

I wouldn't personally, it's not my style, But lots of people do and it sounds fine. Go for it if you think they sound good together.

leccybill · 24/04/2017 22:08

A relative is AA and it sounds nice and normal.
Tbh as I teacher, I seem to remember alliterative names better than others.

Moo31 · 24/04/2017 22:10

We use initials when referencing etc in work and now that I think of it there are lots of doubles! Hadn't really thought about it before so I don't think it's a big deal.

GirlcalledJames · 24/04/2017 22:16

Unless your surname is Hye it's fine.

Jooni · 24/04/2017 22:21

I really like alliteration in the right combo. As long as the other sounds in your surname are different from those in Heidi I'd say go for it (ie. yes to something like Heidi Harrison but no to Heidi Hyde or Heidi High!)

HardcoreLadyType · 24/04/2017 22:22

One of my DDs names does this. The other uses a diminutive of her name which makes it do this.

I have never really noticed it being any kind of issue for them.

I agree that you need to find a lovely name that starts with R for a middle name. What about Roberta?

Yika · 24/04/2017 22:25

Yes, no issue at all. Heidi is a cute name.

BarneyRumbleton · 24/04/2017 22:54

As long as your surname isn't Hole I think you'll be fine!
Heidi's a lovely name.

StarsAndStripes18 · 24/04/2017 23:19

I had alliterative initials before I got married, miss them now...
One of my DSs has alliterative initials and I personally think it sounds really well!

Heidi is a beautiful name, if we'd have had a girl it's a name I would have chosen Smile

OvariesForgotHerPassword · 24/04/2017 23:26

Heidi is lovely and I don't think the alliteration will be a problem.

This thread title made me think "Hmm, I don't know anyone with double initials". Took me far longer than it should have to remember that I have double initials Hmm Grin

LauraPalmersBodybag · 24/04/2017 23:28

I have double initials - I love it!

GreatFuckability · 25/04/2017 00:20

sometimes it works really well, others.....not so much.
I love the name Heidi though!
