Bobby is cute for a baby? Nit so sure for a teen. Woukd become Bob,

SignoraStronza · 21/04/2017 19:59

Just name him Robert and shorten while little. As long as you don't call him Booby-Jay or similar, should still look perfectly respectable as an adult name.

SignoraStronza · 21/04/2017 19:59

Not 'Booby'Grin

toffeeboffin · 21/04/2017 20:00

Just call him Robert.

NormanBates · 21/04/2017 20:01

Don't really like Robert! Definitely won't be hyphenating it?

Bobby is fine. If Alfie, Archie and Teddy are acceptable as full names, then why not Bobby?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/04/2017 20:24

No, Bob is just awful.

Sophronia · 21/04/2017 20:33

Robin with Bobby for short?

NormanBates · 21/04/2017 20:36

Love Robin! Can Bobby be short for it?

I know a little Bobby and the name suits him. But Robert would give him more options when he's older (Bobby, Bob, Rob, Robbie, Bert, Bertie etc)

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 21/04/2017 21:25

SIGNORA 😂😂😂 that really made me laugh, Booby-Jay !
Was going to suggest Robin (Bobby).

JaimeLannister · 21/04/2017 21:31

Love Bobby. I would give Robert or Robin as a full name though.

thebakerwithboobs · 21/04/2017 21:33

Short for Robin or Robert is fine. Bobby is a bit wet as a standalone name for a fully grown man.

deluxetrolley · 21/04/2017 23:33

I know a Robin nn Bobby. Bobby is a lovely name in itself but as others have said, it might be better as a nn so when he gets older he can have the choice.

Loyly · 21/04/2017 23:34

Robin with the nickname Bobby is a good idea.

Pallisers · 21/04/2017 23:36

I would hate to go through life saying "no actually my name is Bobby, not Robert, not Bob" and that is what will happen to him.

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/04/2017 00:10

I just imagine a grown man with a full beard going to get a passport or driving licence and having to tell people his proper name is Bobby. You can't lengthen to Robert/Robin but you can shorten to Bobby.

AntigoneJones · 22/04/2017 00:13

How about Bobby-Lee or Bobby-Jae?

villainousbroodmare · 22/04/2017 00:17

Infantile imo. Robert would give lots of options, including allowing you to call him Bobby for as long as he will tolerate it!

PonderLand · 22/04/2017 00:24

My brothers name is Robert but he's being a Bobby since birth, he rarely gets 'Bob', I love the name for a baby and an adult.

passingthrough1 · 22/04/2017 00:29

Cute for a baby but definitely needs a "proper" name on the BC (Robert or Robin).

MiniMaxi · 22/04/2017 02:48

Definitely go for Robin nn Bobby if you like that OP!
