Baby is being registered soon and still stuck between these 5 names:

Naomi - love, but a bit put off because of the different pronounciation/ 'I moan' backwards has been mentioned a few times..

Eva - first name I considered, love it, just worried about the excessive amount of Ava/Evie/Eva's at the moment?

Sophia also apparently quite popular

Ria

Grace

Ria

lizzieoak · 23/04/2017 00:37

All pretty, but yes, some are over-used at the moment. I like Naomi and Ria though prefer the spelling Rhea (have never seen it spelled Ria).

KERALA1 · 23/04/2017 06:56

Eve and sophie type names and grace are this generations Sarah Claire and Rachel. Nice names but so overused they have lost all their charm.

I like all of these except less keen on Ria. As with PP, I'd spell this Rhia and also only use as a middle name. With Naomi I think you'd have to make peace with the mispronunciations and just know that close family and friends are likely to (eventually) copy the version that you continually use. There will be one though that always gets it wrong and if that will really, really bother you then I'd perhaps pick one of your other name?

*names - sorry

CocoLoco87 · 23/04/2017 07:24

I love Eva Smile

frums · 23/04/2017 07:35

Grace is lovely and o haven't met many little Graces.

I also like Naomi (Nay-Oh-Me).

FurryTurnip · 23/04/2017 07:39

Naomi. The others are all very, very popular, except Ria but I agree that at school she would get called Diar-Ria.

ColourfulOrangex · 23/04/2017 07:40

My favourite from your list is ria but if you love Eva than use it OP, when I named my son 6 years ago I didn't know another boy with the same name but now there is loads of them

Xmasbaby11 · 23/04/2017 07:42

Naomi. Lovely name.

Not keen on Ria and the others are too popular, around here anyway.

CPtart · 23/04/2017 07:47

Naomi. Ria sounds like the make of a car and the others are far far too popular, particularly Eva.

KeepCalm · 23/04/2017 07:47

Naomi is lovely but am a big fan of both Nancy & Nina which are in no way similar other than starting with an 'N' Grin

If you love it, use it. People will pronounce it wrong whatever you use.

My FIL can't say Dylan ffs and keeps saying 'Dye-lon' and don't get me started on how they can't spell middle kids VERY easy name....

Frazzled2207 · 23/04/2017 07:51

Love Eva and Naomi.

Spent some time in japan where Naomi is popular (Japanese name I think?). I would say it like they do there which is nah-o-mi which I like. Not sure where the ys are coming from tbh.

Swearwolf · 23/04/2017 08:03

Grace is super popular now, there are loads of them!

I like Naomi too (with a Nay). It seems like you really love Eva though so I'd go with that. It is popular, but not nearly as popular as grace or Sophia.

BrutusMcDogface · 23/04/2017 08:24

Naomi Grace

I think there would be people who pronounced it both ways going forwards- but neither is "wrong" as such- I don't think?! I had a lovely friend called Naomi growing up- nay or naynay for a nickname!

It is also not as massively popular as the other names. My children and I were discussing how many adult Rachels we know- it's into double figures!
