I just think Mai is so over done in double barreled names, that I'm bored of it. So - Tora. Out of those two

Being Jewish my immediate thought was Torah as in the Jewish bible. I do prefer it to Mai tho for the same reason as Wowser. It's a lovely name but there's just soooooo many.

If Mai, is 'my' than definitely Mai.

Tora Tora Tora is a film depicting the bombing of Pearl Harbour. It was the codeword the Japanese used. Tora = tiger.

Otherwise I'd think of the Jewish Torah.

Isn't Mai pronounced m-i without the a sound?

I know a couple of Japanese ladies with that pronounciation and it's much nicer than the May sounding version

Tora for me is The Torah. I also have a friend Tora short for Victoria. I think I prefer Mai.

How is Mai pronounced? If it's May, she'll spell out her unique version for the rest of her life.
