Opinions on Hemi?

What do you think of the name Hemi? Is it pretty easy to spell/pronounce?

A quick Google tells me this is a Maori name, so if you want to reference that culture, it would work.

To me, it means half, like hemiplegic, hemisphere, so I don't like it.

Makes me think of Born to Run 'Beyond the Palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard'

Hemi is the Maori form of James. It is pronounced Hem-ee. It's one of my brothers names (I am Maori).

Reminds me of Demi in the Little Women series, a joke on 'Demijohn'.

I wouldn't unless you're somewhere Maori names are familiar.

There was a rugby player called Hemi Taylor - yes it does rhyme with Emmy.
